Night of the Living Mormons
As if Mitt Romney's chances weren't shaky enough with Christian conservatives simply because they consider Mormonism a heretical religion, can you imagine how the Pat Robertsons and Dr. James Dobsons of America are going to feel when they find out about the Mormons turning into flesh-eating zombies. It's true. So sayeth The Book of Zombie.
"A small, sleepy Utah town gets an undead wake-up call when all of the townspeople of Mormon faith suddenly transform into flesh-eating ghouls! Now, a group of "non-believers" unaffected by the mysterious epidemic must band together to survive the night and answer the burning question: How do you kill a Mormon zombie?"
The Book of Zombie is a new low budget zombiefest from a couple of filmmakers I won't name here out of fear that the Church of Latter Day Saints will send some hired goons after them or the entire Osmond clan will come after them with torches and pitchforks. Wouldn't be surprised if Lloyd Kaufman came a knocking, too, wanting to buy the film; looks like something Troma would go for.
You can find the official website here and the trailer below. In all seriousness, The Book of Zombie looks far better than you'd expect from some ultra low budget indie production about Mormons turning into zombies and trying to "convert" them. Grab your best pair of magical Mormon underwear and have a look-see.

I never knew that there would be so much bullshit going on about a horror movie. Sure they are trying a little hard on the shock factor. But its A HORROR MOVIE!!!! get over yourselves people who cares. Its horror its meant to shock and piss people off. Friday 13th would have never done as well if Siskel and Ebert didn't get pissed off about it.
I don't know why everyone is so pissed off about nothing. I mean I could careless its whacked out religion period.

Wow. I am a huge fan of the zombie genre, but how can you post a review so laced with bigotry against a minority group? "How do you kill a Mormon zombie?" I can't even believe I read that. Can you imagine if someone had asked, "How do you kill a Muslim zombie" or "How do you kill a black zombie"? There would hopefully be outrage from your site along with a scathing review. And I don't think you would ever title one of your posts "Night of the Living Jews". Come on guys, get real. Do yourselves a favor and delete this garbage.

Hello, person that claims to be a "Free Thinker", not only do you fail to realize that this is a news article, not a review, you seem more interested in channeling your hatred at me for posting the story about the movie than you are at the movie itself or the people who made it. "How do you kill a Mormon zombie?" That line is from the movie's synopsis, not a personal statement on my part. And, yes, if the movie was about Jewish zombies the title of the article would have been "Night of the Living Jews".

I take it you never saw Black Demons did you?

Jeez ... who called the PC Police? Actually, there is a movie called Night of the Living Jews, and we mentioned it here. We're equal opportunity offenders at Dread Central!
Besides, the line "How do you kill a Mormon zombie?" is from the film's official synopsis, not written by Foy as part of the article.

And "Rache", scrawled in blood on the wall above Foy's dead body.

Why did your movie review have to include bigoted anti-Mormon jabs ? Magic underwear ? Would you write that Jews wear magic beanies ? Mormon bashing is not ok. Next time, just review the movie.

oh give it a rest. How is this anti-mormon? Grow up and quit being so damned sensitive.

Have Jewish beanies ever been accused of being magical? I made the joke about the magic underwear was a bit of nonsense we all had to hear entirely too much about during the Republican primaries last year. Why so sensitive about the underwear thing?

First - this wasn't a review, it's a news story about a horror comedy that happens to concern Mormons.
Second - It was meant in the same type of good fun that the film itself is.
We all poke fun of ourselves no matter what or who we are.

Amen.
I don´t want to imagine what could happen if you review a movie about "Living Scientologists" or something like that.
"Santo llamando a Blue Demon..."
