Four Clips from Downloading Nancy
What better way to start off a weekend than by downloading and sampling a bit on Nancy's psycho-thriller goodness! That's right, folks! Lock up the kids, bolt the doors, and dim the lights! It's time to see what kind of hazards can come from a not-so-innocent cyber affair!
Official Synopsis
When Albert Stockwell (Rufus Sewell, Dark City, Illuminata) comes home from work one day, he finds a note from his wife of 15 years, Nancy (Maria Bello, A History of Violence, Thank You for Smoking), saying she has gone to see friends. After waiting several days, Albert realizes that his wife is missing. Nancy has met her salvation on the Internet in the form of Louis Farley (Jason Patric, The Lost Boys, Rush). Nancy and Louis, both wounded souls, take comfort in one another through e-mail, pictures, and promises of perverse sexual encounters. Nancy has finally found the one and only thing that can liberate her from the pain in her life. While she pursues the freedom that she feels will only come with ultimate liberation, Albert is left to put the pieces together and try to salvage what is left.

With the DVD and Blu-ray release of Platinum Dunes' Friday the 13th (2009) just around the corner, the good folks at Warner Brothers have sent over several clips for you guys to dig into!

Some people might wonder why this movie is being discussed on a "horror" website. Personally, I think it fits the genre well enough to warrant inclusion. The horror genre casts a wide net. It includes everything from GODZILLA to I SPIT ON YOUR GRAVE, from ERASERHEAD to CHILDS PLAY 3, from IRREVERSIBLE to LOVE AT FIRST BITE. I think that DOWNLOADING NANCY fits the genre in the same way that movies like LOOKING FOR MR GOODBAR and IN MY SKIN do. Bravo for websites like Dread Central choosing to cover such a challenging and disturbing film.

I saw this last night and was blown away by Maria Bello's incredible performance. She's staggeringly powerful in this tragic role. There are scenes here that are as raw and real as anything I've ever seen on screen. This is a deeply sad film that will stay with me for a long time.
