Poltergeist Remake Script Review

Back in March of this year Stiles White and Juliet Snowden, the writing duo responsible for the upcoming Poltergeist remake, promised to the fans, "It’s treasured; it’s valuable. We see Poltergeist as if, um, as if we’re being handed the keys to the car and we’re gonna be really careful with it."

Today's the day we find out if their words ring true as Latino Review's El Diablo provides a video review of the first draft of the script.

Dig it below, and keep it here for updates on both the Poltergeist remake as well as The Birds redux Stiles and Snowden are penning, too.

Review videos

I concur with the review videos. The entire point is obvious: keep people from cutting and pasting your stuff without credit. I'm just not entirely sure making people listen to a lengthy 'video' (which adds nothing to the content) is a good way to protect your content. Some of us read just a tad bit faster than that dude can read it to us.

As for the remake? It will suffer from the exact same problem all remakes of good movies suffer: if it's inferior, it'll be hated. If it's superior, it'll be different enough from the original that making it a 'remake' in the first place is pointless. Exceptions: Hills Have Eyes and Texas Chainsaw Massacre, and that's because those original films are 'great' for reasons other than why the remakes succeed.

Everything else? Damned if you do, damned if you don't.

I hate Latino Review's "review videos". Absolutely unwatchable.

Sorry, but to me, a remake of Poltergeist is bordering on blasphemy. Remake = Crap Sandwich.
