BBC Celebrates Being Human ... Sort Of!
”So, a werewolf, a vampire and a ghost all live together in a house …” If that premise sounds like the beginning of a joke, it’s because it is … sort of. BBC America is gearing up to debut Being Human, a horror-comedy about three twenty-somethings, each of whom happens to be a supernatural being.
George (Russell Tovey) and Mitchell (Aidan Turner) work in anonymous drudgery as hospital porters. They lead lives of quiet desperation under the burden of a terrible secret — Mitchell’s a vampire and George a werewolf. Deciding to start life afresh and leave behind the dark side, they move into a house, only to find that Annie (Lenora Crichlow), the ghost of a woman killed in mysterious circumstances, haunts it. As the monster threesome deal with the challenges of their new life together, they’re united in their desire to blend in with their human neighbors.
The premise has potential, but whether or not it’ll realize it remains to be seen. Find out yourself when Being Human premiers on BBC America on July 25 at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT.
