DVD Artwork for REC

Finally after what seems like forever we're getting our hands on an official Region 1 DVD release of Jaume Balagueró's REC (review here) (yes, we know you Canadians have had it for a while now) this coming July 14th.
DVD Active scored an early look at the artwork (which sucks) that you see below. The only extra material to be included will be a making-of featurette. Dig it!

The cover makes it look like a movie about two mimes trying to out-mime each other.

What's with the image of the mean little kid in the background, I don't recall that occurring in the film. Crap cover art for sure.

I'm glad it finally coming out. It kicks Quarantine's ass. And yes, the DVD cover art does in deed suck, I can say this.... AT LEAST IT DOESN'T SHOW THE FUCKING ENDING OF THE GODDAMN MOVIE! Whoever thought putting that on posters, trailers, and the DVD art was a good idea, they should be fired and never again allowed to work in the feild.

I love that "The movie that inspired Quarantine" tagline. I would've put "A million times better than the shitty Americanized remake Quarantine" instead.

ugh, what was wrong with the overseas DVD art? This makes it look like one of the millions of bad horror movies that get released every week.
It is a shame Quarantine ruined it for this movie's US viewers, I remember screening this before Quarantine came out for some friends and they nearly had a freaking heart attack, now it's been dulled down and everyone has more or less seen it via the shot-for-shot remake.

Heh. I didn't bother to watch Quarantine as I really, REALLY wanted to see REC instead, as the trailer looked scary as hell.
I'm now looking forward to that scare-induced heart attack.
