Bret Easton Ellis is Taking Hostages

For my money, anything that Bret Easton Ellis (author of American Psycho) does is worth taking note of. So, it’s especially cool to hear the author has written an as of yet untitled script that genre fans might find interesting.

According to Variety, the Ellis screenplay will be produced by Myriad Pictures and The Roseblood Movie Co and will focus on an awkward social outcast who, after being humiliated by a group of peers, exacts revenge by taking them hostage, with dire consequences.

While the premise isn’t exactly a trailblazer, you can certainly expect some substance with the involvement of Ellis. Director Brad Furman (The Take) is attached to the project, and casting has yet to commence. Keep watching this spot for more info.
