When it first premiered, I was as big a fan of "Medium" as anyone. Its balanced portrayal of psychic/medium Allison DuBois' professional and personal lives was rich and rewarding. But it started losing me in later seasons, mostly due to the fact that it began to feel a little too familiar week after week.
Apparently I'm not alone as NBC has opted to not renew the series for its upcoming 2009/2010 schedule. But don't count it out just yet.
According to Variety, there's a good chance "Medium" will jump over to CBS, where it makes a logical partner for that network's "Ghost Whisperer" on Friday nights.
Will a new home help "Medium" regain its former luster? (Check out my reviews of the show's Season One and Two DVD boxsets to see just how bright that luster used to be.) Only time will tell, but with the recent cancellation of "The Sarah Connor Chronicles" on Fox, my Friday nights just got freed up, so should the move occur, I'm willing to give the DuBois family one more chance.
