ABC Picks Up Eastwick
ABC appears poised to enter the genre game with the announcement that the network is giving "Eastwick" a chance to advance from pilot to full-fledged series.
According to The Hollywood Reporter "Eastwick", which hails from Warner Bros. TV and its reality/cable division Warner Horizon, is only "loosely based on the John Updike novel and the feature film." It stars Jaime Ray Newman, Lindsay Price, and Rebecca Romjin (L-R, below) as three young witches who come into their powers when a mysterious man comes to town. Paul Gross is stepping into Jack Nicholson's shoes as Darryl.
Aside from its lovely star power, "Eastwick" is also notable for extending the perfect record for its director David Nutter, whose every pilot so far has been ordered to series.
