Although Holmes is best known as Tom Cruise’s taller half, I’ve actually enjoyed her performances, like in Disturbing Behavior and the highly-underrated GO! . Troy Nixey will be directing the film, which will be his full-length directorial debut. Del Toro became a huge fan of Nixey’s after his 2007 creepy short film Latchkey’s Lament. Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark is based on the 1973 ABC made-for-TV movie about a young girl who moves in with her father and his girlfriend and discovers they are sharing the house with devilish creatures.
