If you've never checked out the Death Note series, brothers and sisters, you've been missing out. It's easily one of the single most captivating and visually arresting franchises around, and now through the magic of the remake, American audiences will be getting their very own version of the tale.
According to Variety Warner Bros. has acquired rights to turn the Japanese manga series into a live-action feature with screenwriters Charley and Vlas Parlapanides adapting the property.
For those of you not in the know (and shame on you if you are in that category), Death Note centers on a college student who accidentally finds a misplaced "death note," infusing him with the power to kill merely by writing anyone's name on the page while picturing the person in his mind.
Incidentally, if you don't feel like waiting, we highly recommend checking out the pre-existing Japanese films, Death Note (review here) and Death Note II: The Last Name (review here)! If fact order them below! You won't be sorry! They both friggin' rock!

The movies are good, but the anime is far more superior and detailed.
