E1 Bringing Elsewhere and Hunger Home in June
Two new bits of horror goodness are heading home on June 2nd from E1 Entertainment, and we've got a look at both of them for ya!
In the vein of When a Stranger Calls and Disturbia, the suspense unfolds in Elsewhere, a new teen thriller featuring rising star Anna Kendrick (Twilight, Rocket Science). In Elsewhere, Kendrick plays the responsible, straight-laced half of an unlikely pair of best friends, who finds herself wrapped up in a dark mystery in which the whole town seems to be participating. E1 Entertainment presents Elsewhere to audiences for the first time on DVD and Blu-ray for $24.98 SRP.
Both formats include over two hours of bonus features, including an audio commentary with director Nathan Hope and producer Vincent Palomino, behind-the scenes footage and cast interviews, deleted scenes, and more.
Sarah (Kendrick) and Jillian (Raymonde) have been best friends for so long they can't remember when their friendship started. Growing up in a small town in Indiana, the two girls couldn't be more different: Sarah is a star pupil and athlete, while Jillian is a star mischief-maker. Although both girls long to be break free of the small-town life, Sarah is shocked to discover that Jillian is using the Internet to meet men with the sole purpose of finding someone who will take her someplace more exciting. Soon thereafter she disappears, leaving Sarah with only a journal and a cryptic video message sent from her cell-phone. Enlisting the aid of Jasper (Chuck Carter), the resident computer genius who secretly adores her, Sarah plunges head-long into the search for Jillian. The trail leads the two into the heart of the town's dark secrets where they discover why nobody wants Jillian found.
Also hitting DVD on June 2nd is something we're really excited for!
Hosted by Terence Stamp (“Smallville”, Valkyrie) and inspired by leading horror writers, this macabre anthology series from Ridley and Tony Scott features a phenomenal cast of familiar faces including Daniel Craig (Quantum of Solace, The Golden Compass), Balthazar Getty (“Brothers & Sisters,” “Alias”), Golden Globe winners Sally Kirkland (Bruce Almighty, Anna) and Bruce Davison (X-Men, Longtime Companion), Academy Award nominee Karen Black (Five Easy Pieces, Easy Rider), and many more. The Hunger: The Complete First Season includes all 22 episodes, complete and uncut, for the first time in one deluxe 4-DVD set.
In The Hunger demons, vampires, and fantasy run wild in a mesmerizing cross between The Twilight Zone and Tales from the Crypt. The half-hour episodes feature horrific stories, with themes of self-destructive desire and obsession. From cannibalism to uncontrollable lust, from vampires to evil spirits, the one common thread is a pervasive sense of eroticism. The Hunger originally aired for two seasons (1997-1999) on Showtime in the U.S. and took its name from the 1983 urban vampire film starring David Bowie, Catherine Deneuve, and Susan Sarandon. The Hunger: The Complete First Season also includes the original “making-of” segment – an introduction to the second season with David Bowie, who replaced Stamp as host in 1999.
