David Slade has Cold Skin
Yep. It's a little known fact. When you touch this guy, you'd think he was dead. Even in the hottest of weather he manages to st ... Huh? Oh, you mean his next movie. Gotcha! Yep, right after tacking Twilight: Eclipse, Slade will be sinking his teeth right back into the horror genre.
Variety reports today that Slade is attached to direct Cold Skin, which is based upon a Spanish novel of the same name about a young man who is sent to an Antarctic island where he discovers amphibious humanoids, one of which has been captured and used as a sex slave by another man on the island. Conflict arises when the protagonist comes to care for the female creature.
Nothing like getting kinky with humanoids. The Japanese have taught us so very much! Anyway, this film adaptation of Cold Skin will be scripted by Jesus Olmo (28 Weeks Later) and is sporting a budget of about $25 million.
Look for it to begin shooting in March, 2010.
