Lee Perkins Ready to Be Slimed

Lee PerkinsNo, we're not talking about Ghostbusters again. This time "sliming" refers to a new indie project, Slime City Massacre, Gregory Lamberson's follow-up to 1988's Slime City.

Filming on the sequel will begin this July in Buffalo, and cast members include the recently announced Lee Perkins (pictured), Debbie Rochon, horror author Kealan Patrick Burke, and newcomer Jennifer Bihl as four squatters trying to survive in New York City after a terrorist attack brings down the financial system. They discover a supply of strange wine in the ruins of a soup kitchen which turns them into hideous slime creatures driven to murderous acts. Robert Sabin and Mary Bogle return from the original film, Brooke Lewis appears in several flashbacks, and filmmaker Roy (Street Trash) Frumkes has a role as a greedy developer.

According to Perkins, "SCM will not be your typical horror flick." He goes on to exclaim, "Man, I feel lucky. Lucky that I met Greg years ago and that I stayed in touch. I'm a big fan of writer/directors because they create such deep complex characters.

Hopefully the fans will be lucky, too, and will dig on the finished product. If you're not familiar with the original Slime City, pick up a copy from EvilShop below, and visit Greg Lamberson's official site. In the meantime keep it here for more news on Slime City Massacre as filming progresses over the summer.
