Robert Rodriguez Confirms New Predator

Robert Rodriguez Confirms New PredatorBreathe easy, horror fans ... we're finally going to get a reboot that we won't mind very much! Robert Rodriguez confirmed today that he will be taking the Predator franchise and giving it a good once-over!

IESB confirmed the rumors which started rumbling over at Bloody Disgusting about a new Predator film with Rodriguez serving as producer and director, doling out an all-new take on the existing franchise.

The news was confirmed today at a press conference at Troublemaker Studios where Robert revealed his upcoming film slate:

"I'm going to be able to shoot my upcoming Machete here, a sci-fi action film called Nervewrackers, a re-boot of the Predator series called Predators, and a couple of smaller movies called Sin City 2 and The Jetsons," Rodriguez told the audience.

Given the sad state of films the predators have found their way into lately, all I can say is hell ... fucking ... yeah!

Is calling it a reboot even necesary each movie told a separate story. I do love the fact that Rodriguez is doing it, and hey if they were to try and do another "Predator vs." movie it's got to be with Mcg's Terminators and Christian Bale.

I still say they should do the Predator in the old west.

....I would very much like these guys to stop jabbering until they sign on the dotted line. Just because there's a microphone in your face doesn't mean you have to say something. I would like to see him do it (just like I would like to see Del Toro do Mountains of Madness) but when you prattle off a half dozen projects....Hey and whatever happened to John Carter Warlord of Mars?

I'm with you, Gus! Who among us hasn't been burned over and over again by filmmakers promising us the world and then failing to deliver? But even so, the prospect of a Rodriguez-helmed Predator film makes this Woman's heart go pitty-pat.
