NEWS
Drummer BIll Ward has released another update about his involvement (or lack thereof) in the upcoming Black Sabbath reunion. You can read his statement here. In short, he says that negotiations are ongoing and nothing is official one way or the other.
Matt DeVries has joined Fear Factory on bass. DeVries has previously played with Chimaira and Six Feet Under. He replaces Bryon Stroud, who recently left to join 3 Inches of Blood. The band’s new album will be released in the early summer.
Bullet Tooth Records has signed California’s I, Omega. The progressive metal band will release an EP entitled The Ravenous in the spring. Watch their announcement here.
Nonpoint have entered Groovemaster Studios in Chicago with producer Johnny K (Disturbed, Megadeth) to begin work on their forthcoming seventh studio album. The effort will be released later this year on Razor & Tie Records. Founding members Elias Soriano (vocals) and Robb Rivera (drums) have welcomed three new members: Dave Lizzio (guitar), Adam Wolosyzn (bass), and Rasheed Thomas (guitar), all from the band Inn Cinema.
Brendon Small, who co-created Adult Swim’s Metalocalypse and performs all of the show’s music as Dethklok, has a new project known as Brendon Small’s Galaktikon. The “high stakes intergalactic extreme rock album” will be released in April.
RELEASES
Hellyeah will release Band of Brothers on June 5. This will be their third album and first for Eleven Seven Music. The supergroup features members of Pantera, Mudvayne, Damageplan and Nothingface.
For Today will release Immortal on May 22 via Razor & Tie. Watch the band’s first studio update here.
Oddland will release their debut album, The Treachery of Senses, on May 8 (as a digital download only) via Century Media Records. The Finnish progressive metal band gained notoriety upon winning the Suomi Metal Star contest.
STREAMS
Stream Corrosion of Conformity‘s new self-titled album here. This is the stoner metal band’s first full length since 2005. It comes out on February 28 via Candlelight Records.
Listen to a new Meshuggah song entitled “Do Not Look Down” here. The Swedish metal band’s seventh album, Koloss, will be released on March 27 via Nuclear Blast.
Listen to a new E-Town Concrete song entitled “Someone Tell ‘Em” here. This is the first new material released by the band in 9 years. It seems that they haven’t forgotten their nu metal ways.
Listen to a new Torche song entitled “Kicking” here. The stoner metal band’s third album, Harmonicraft, will be released on April 24 via Volcom.
Listen to a Periphery song entitled “Passenger” here. It will appear on the upcoming re-issue of the band’s 2012 self-titled debut. The track was originally by the band Haunted Shores, which features Periphery members Mark Holcomb and Misha Mansoor.
Listen to Blatant Disarray‘s cover of Megadeth‘s “Holy Wars…The Punishment Due,” Line of Fire‘s cover of Queensryche‘s “I Will Remember” and Vanisher‘s cover of Metallica‘s “Of Wolf and Man” here. The tracks will appear on Tribunal Records’ upcoming Cover To Cover compilation, which will be released digitally on March 6.

WatchThe Black Dahlia Murder‘s music video for “Moonlight Equilibrium” here. It’s made to look like a grindhouse-era horror movie and therefore is awesome. Thanks to the blood and boobs, the video is not safe for work.
Watch letlive‘s music video for “Muther” here. This is a more accessible track, but if you miss good post-hardcore a la Glassjaw, pick up their album Fake History, which is out now on Epitaph Records.
Watch Farewell to Freeway‘s music video for “Inside Influence” here. The track comes from Filthy Habits, which is out now on Victory Records.
Watch Coheed and Cambria mastermind Claudio Sanchez performing a new song entitled “Sentry The Defiant” here. The track will be on the band’s upcoming sixth album, which is due out later this year.
Watch Motionless In White‘s music video for “Puppets” here. It features footage from the group’s trek on the Warped Tour last year, and they will be participating again this summer. The band is currently in the studio working on a new album.
Watch Autopsy‘s music video for “All Tomorrow’s Funerals” here. The song is the title track for the death metal band’s upcoming collection of re-mastered classics, which comes out on February 28. If you like what you hear, you can download the track for free here.
Watch Will Haven‘s music video for “When the Walls Close In” here. Things get bloody. The noise metal band’s latest album, Voir Dire, is out now.
Watch Close Your Eyes‘ music video for “Erie” here. This is the hardcore/punk band’s second music video in less than a month’s time. No complaints here.
Watch Halestorm‘s music video for “Love Bites (So Do I)” here. The female-fronted hard rock band’s second album, The Strange Case Of…, will be released on April 10 via Atlantic Records.
TOURS
Iron Maiden have announced the North American leg of their Maiden England World Tour. Alice Cooper with support on the first half and Coheed and Cambria will be on the latter. Dates can be found here.
The legendary Bad Brains will be playing a few shows on the east coast. Support includes GZA and H2O. Details can be found here.
Trisas, Alestorm, Arkona and Huntress will team up for PaganFest: America Part III. Tour dates can be found here. This marks Finland’s Turisas‘ first U.S. headlining run. Ex Deo were originally scheduled to play but had to drop off.
Crowbar and Prong will be touring together in April. The first batch of dates can be found here.
The 2012 Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival will take place on June 7-10 at Great Stage Park in Manchester, TN. Headliners include Radiohead, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Phish, The Beach Boys, Bon Iver and more. The full line-up can be found here. Tickets are on sale now.
Overkill will headline The Electric Age Tour with support form God Forbid, Diamond Plate and Sudikara. Dates can be fond here. The tour is in support of Overkill‘s upcoming 16th album, The Electric Age, will be released on March 27.
