Sounds decent to me...but there are aspects that worry me. The whole "wrongly accused Freddy" being one of them. I HATED when PD attempted to make us feel sorry for Leatherface by giving him a skin disease, and HATED it even more when Zombie did the same thing to Myers by giving him this rotten childhood to excuse his evilness (at least, that's the way I took it).

Sometimes, things are scarier when they DON'T have an explanation. Leatherface was scarier when he was a cross dressing, fucked-up-in-the-head mongoloid who wore other people's faces for fun and hobby, rather than to hide his own skin condition....same goes for Myers, when he was simply "the shape of evil". I have no doubts that if PD does indeed go ahead with this lame swerve where Freddy is the innocent victim and the children are the evil liars...it's going to suck, very very badly.

Also must be concerned with the "Freddy was a handsome man" quote. This makes it highly likely that PD is going to cast someone shallow and or a piss poor actor who only has looks going for them for the role. I hope I am wrong about that though.

Sounds like this will be horrible. The storyline alone just reeks.

I don't like how they are wussing out by making it ambiguous about whether or not Freddy was a child molester.

I'm 100% with you on this one. I really don't understand the inclination to make the killer SYMPATHETIC... who gets scared of something you feel bad for?

I believe they also mention that Freddy was a good looking person before he was torched so we're going to get some really shitty WB type casting I bet.

The mention of the scriptwriter had me until they mentioned Doom. But we'll see. I won't get my hopes too high, but will check it out when it's released.

There's not much that Platinum Dunes has done well. They couldn't make a good Friday the 13th and the bar was low on that. Don't get too excited about a solid classic like Nightmare On Elm Street. It will probably disappoint us with Freddy hiding in tunnels and shooting a bow and arrow.

man, i HOPE he shoots a bow and arrow!
:\ this sucks.

Interesting, I'm still on the fence about it though, Dunes has let us down time and time again.

Sounds pretty damn good to me. But I wonder how much of it will make the cutting room floor?
