Elizalde Joins Don't Be Afraid of the Dark Redux
During one of Fangoria Radio’s recent shows, it was revealed that Mike Elizalde will be re-teaming with Hellboy II helmer Guillermo del Toro to work on the effects for the del Toro-produced remake of Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark.
Newcomer Troy Nixey is directing the remake of the ABC TV movie from 1973, about a woman who doesn’t listen to the creepy old caretaker of her new house and unleashes some very nasty creatures from its walls. Elizalde will help create said creatures, among other practical effects.
Production on the film is obviously ramping up and hopefully we’ll have more to share about it very soon, so don’t move around too much.
And seriously, if you find a secret door with a huge padlock on it, leave well enough alone; that door is locked for a reason!
