McDowell Back for Halloween 2
Despite earlier rumors of a disconnect, it seems that Malcolm McDowell will indeed be back as Dr. Sam Loomis in Rob Zombie's Halloween 2.
Says Zombie on his MySpace page, "Rumors have it that Malcolm will not be returning as Dr. Loomis. Well, as usual the rumors are wrong. Malcolm McDowell will be back and ready to deal with big Mike."
I have to say, seeing the Friday the 13th remake has given me a bit more respect for Zombie's reboot. At the very least he was trying to make a good movie for the fans, so now that all the Myers remake stuff has been put to bed, I'm kind of optimistic about this one.
Look for Rob Zombie's Halloween 2 in theatres on August 28, 2009.

Jesus Christ, Malcolm! Remember when McDowell said that he would never appear in another horror film because Halloween was so terrible? I guess he needs a check for a new fridge or something.

Was it an erroneous report? I remember reading the story right after Zombie's Halloween hit the theaters.

The closest that I got was in a video interview a while back that McDowell seemed disappointed with the new ending and thought the old one was better. But I don't recall him ever officially stating that he hated the film.
