Screenwriter Tapped for Ghouly Boys Film
I’ve never heard of The Ghouly Boys, but then I’ve had barely a toe in the comics scene for quite a few years so hopefully you guys can forgive me. If the title is unfamiliar to you as well, it was originally a graphic novel series published in 2004 by Slave Labor Graphics, which is now being adapted for the screen by newbie screenwriter Sam Esmail, according to THR.
The Ghouly Boys is the story of a quartet of young monster outcasts who just want to be like all the other monsters. It was written and drawn by Christopher Higginson (going by just “Christopher” at the time). The film will follow a young boy looking for his dead father, a zombie looking for a way to come back to life, and the adventures they find themselves in upon these quests.
Mandate Pictures is behind the film. No director has been attached yet, but as soon as we hear about one, we’ll be giving you word. You can learn more about The Ghouly Boys over at Christopher's official site.
