The End of the F***ing World Coming to Netflix

With the general feel of unrest and tension permeating the globe, is it any wonder why Google searches for World War III have skyrocketed? Still, the end could all go down without even the push of a button.
According to Digital Spy, E4 and Netflix have partnered up for a new teen thriller starring “Black Mirror” actor Alex Lawther entitled The End of the Fucking World. Jessica Barden (“Penny Dreadful”) co-stars in the project written by Charlie Covell and based on the award-winning series of comic books by Charles Forsman.
Originally released to critical and public acclaim in 2013, Charles Forsman’s graphic novel debut follows James and Alyssa, two teenagers living a seemingly typical teen experience as they face the fear of coming adulthood. Forsman tells their story through each character’s perspective, jumping between points of view with each chapter. But quickly, this somewhat familiar teenage experience takes a more nihilistic turn as James’ character exhibits a rapidly forming sociopathy that threatens both of their futures. He harbors violent fantasies and begins to act on them, while Alyssa remains as willfully ignorant for as long as she can, blinded by young love.
Jonathan Entwistle and Lucy Tcherniak will direct, while Kate Ogborn (The Unloved, Red Riding) is producer.
Executive producers for Clerkenwell Films are Petra Fried, Ed Macdonald, and Andy Baker, and the executive producer for Dominic Buchanan Productions is Dominic Buchanan (Gimme The Loot, Lilting, King Jack). Jonathan Entwistle also serves as an executive producer.
