First Look – Geena Davis in The Exorcist TV Series

Fox works fast! After just announcing that the network has given a series order for a TV version of The Exorcist, which is said to be a “new take” on the seminal horror film, they’ve released the first image!

“The Exorcist” series will take the form of a psychological thriller. Starring are Geena Davis, Alfonso Herrera (as Father Tomas Ortega), and Ben Daniels (as Father Marcus Lang). Beasts of No Nation‘s Kurt Egyiawan co-stars as Father Bennett, a liaison for the Vatican, with Hannah Kasulka playing Casey Rance, the wallflower of the family, who is worried about her sister, Charlotte (Brianne Howey), who has been holed up in her room ever since her serious accident.

The producer is Jeremy Slater (The Fantastic Four), and Rupert Wyatt (Rise of the Planet of the Apes) is directing the pilot.

Synopsis:
More than four decades after the Academy Award-nominated film solidified itself as the greatest horror movie ever made, The Exorcist returns in series format as a propulsive psychological thriller following two very different priests tackling one family’s case of horrifying demonic possession.
