Hulu Fans Are Watching Paris Hilton Die In Underrated Horror Remake Dominating Charts
The early aughts saw a massive boom in horror remakes. One of my favorites from that period remains House of Wax (2005). An update on the 1953 Vincent Price classic, it offers up a grisly slice of horror chock full of nasty effects. It’s also notorious for having possibly the meanest marketing campaign for a film of all time. See, the slasher features Paris Hilton, who, fair or not, did not always have the best reputation with the public. Ads for House of Wax invited audiences to “see Paris die”. And oh, does she ever.
House of Wax follows a group of friends on their way to a college football game. In need of a car repair, they find themselves at a creepy mechanic in a town that seems to be deserted. Unbeknownst to them, a killer lurks in the shadows, anxious to make them a part of his wax museum forever.
