‘Twisted Metal’ Star Mike Mitchell Cut from Show in Shocking News

Mike Mitchell has been a key part of Peacock’s series adaptation of the video game franchise, “Twisted Metal“. Despite that, the actor has announced that he’s been cut from the show in a shocking turn of events.
During the April 9th episode of his Doughboys Media podcast, Mitchell broke the stunning news. “I don’t think I’m going back to the third season of ‘Twisted Metal’. And I am very kind of heartbroken about it. I love the show.“
That’s obvious by the fact that Mitchell and co-host Nick Wiger have celebrated the series with themed months dubbed “Twisted Monthal”, welcoming various co-stars and writers, as well as co-creator Michael Jonathan Smith.
Upon hearing the news, Wiger responded, “They’re gonna do the show without Stu. They’ve made the executive decision that creatively, financially, we don’t want Mike Mitchell a part of this show. We want to move on without him, as crucial as Stu and Sweet Tooth’s relationship has been — the emotional core of the past two seasons — they’re like, ‘Forget about that, we’re going in a different direction.'”
Wiger and the rest of the fans have every reason to be experiencing some road rage over this.
Mitchell notes that he isn’t bitter about the decision. According to the actor, the show is experiencing a creative reset that includes a new showrunner added and several department heads and writers being let go.
David Reed (“The Boys”) took over as showrunner and executive producer after season two.
For those that haven’t kept up with “Twisted Metal”, the wild comedy series is based on the Playstation video game franchise and centers around a post-apocalyptic wasteland where an outsider must deliver a package to change his life.
The main cast includes Stephanie Beatriz, Anthony Mackie, Joe Seanoa and Anthony Carrigan. Mitchell played Stu, the protégé to Will Arnett‘s character, Sweet Tooth.
You can stream the first two seasons on Peacock to see why fans are disappointed by Mitchell’s departure.
