Shudder is on an absolute roll, not only picking up all seven seasons of Tales from the Crypt, but also acquiring three horror films out of the Overlook Film Festival.
This time, they head to Kansas City for this weekend’s Panic Fest, where they have acquired The Voices of Our Mother, a new supernatural horror film helmed by Ready or Not actor Mark O’Brien, reports Deadline.
The Voices of Our Mother follows Harriet Scaflen (McCarthy) after the death of her mother at the age of 95.
In the aftermath, Harriet has an unexplainable health scare, bringing her four estranged children to the family home to care for her. As their past animosities and secrets are revealed, they soon realize their mother’s health issues may be supernatural, and the awoken evil inside her is seeking revenge on her children for her own survival.
It stars O’Brien, Sheila McCarthy (Women Talking) and Georgina Reilly (Quantum Leap).
O’Brien directed from his own script, with Christopher Giroux and Justin Rebelo producing for Vortex Productions, and Jesse Ikeman, Nataline Rodrigues and Bill Marks exec producing.
