SnowedInStarring Kaitlyn Marie

Directed by Hannah Luyten

Lonely injured girl, bummed out at the notion of her Mom and Dad away for the holidays after their flight home gets cancelled (now that’s just wrong) – outside of that, what else could bring someone down during the season of cheer?

Well, if you’ve got 5 minutes to spare and an appreciation for a youthful take on horror, then it’s worth a one-time watch to check out Snowed In, a short directed by Hanna Luyten, who is using this quickie to take the very big leap into the filmmaking industry. Now, with only a 5 minute runtime, for me to get into details would be a complete spoiler for any prospective viewers, so all I can offer is this: even though our leading lady thinks she’s the only one under the roof this yule-time, she’s got another thing coming. Luyten keeps it simple and clean with a no-nonsense presentation that is fun to partake in, although the majority of the 5 minutes are a WEE-BIT lagging in tempo – nonetheless, she appears to be on the right track with her buildup of suspense and eventual payoff. Overall, the short is worth a glance and could spell a potential future in the biz for a newbie with an eye for the spooky stuff – good on ya, kid.
