Talisman Comes to TV
I’ve gotta say it’s about damn time! Hell, if Preacher can find its way to celluloid, then it’s high time the Stephen King/Peter Straub epic The Talisman did as well, don’t you think? Yeah, you do.
Fangoria got the fantastic news that TNT, happy with the recent success of Nightmares and Dreamscapes and Salem’s Lot, has greenlit The Talisman as a six-hour miniseries! Ehren (The Ring, Skeleton Key) Kruger has been handed the scripting duties, though not for the first time. You can check out a really old interview I did with Kruger here in which he discusses the feature-length draft he penned back in the day, which I’m sure was a pain to condense.
Steven Spielberg will produce through his Dreamworks Television, and TNT hopes to have it on the air by summer of 2008. Damn, they better get started soon then! No director has been named as of yet, but I get the feeling when one is we’re all going to be impressed…
