Unprotected Saw

Saw III Quad Poster (click for a larger view)I repeatedly beat myself over the head for missing Saw III in theatres. This is one of the many pitfalls of dating someone who is a fan of no horror film in the history of our genre. I did get to see Santa Clause 3 though, and my manhood can be found in a jar on our window right next to my brains that decided to evacuate before my head imploded at all the sugar-coated idiocy.

January 23rd may be more than a month away, but our fancies are already being tickled thanks to Davis DVD‘s new hi-res images of the unrated Saw III DVD case. It doesn’t come as much of a surprise that the packaging follows the same form as its predecessors, but this is certainly nothing to complain about if you’ve seen Davis DVD‘s “Hall of Shame.”

As Johnny reported before, some of the confirmed special features are commentary by Darren Lynn Bousman and Leigh Whannell, commentary by Bousman and editor Kevin Greutert, commentary by the producers, and deleted scenes. Hmmm … this seems nice and all, but aren’t these multiple commentaries a bit excessive? Does this mean we are going to get skimped on real meaty features until a double-dip appears when the fourth Saw film comes in October of 2007?! As soon as we find out more, you can be sure the news will be right here at Dread Central.
