Kane Hodder Joins Video Game Summer Camp
When you think of slasher movie icons, it’s impossible not to think of certain names… Kane Hodder, Tom Savini, and Harry Manfredini, all of whom haunted us for many years with their work on the Friday the 13th franchise.
Bloody Disgusting reports that Hodder will be playing the killer in Gun Media’s upcoming game Slasher Vol 1: Summer Camp. Tom Savini is also involved, and Manfredini will be doing the score. Pardon my geek boner.
“Honestly, who else could we have chosen for the role of the killer?” explains Wes Keltner, co-creator of Summer Camp. “Several people have worn the mask, but in our eyes, there was only one. Kane has the body type, the presence, and demeanor that personify the unrelenting, undying killing force we’re after for Summer Camp.”
“Everyone has their own skills,” says Hodder. “One of mine happens to be killing people on screen. When Wes and the team behind Summer Camp came to me, I jumped at the chance to bring my skills to gamers around the world. Combined with the fact that Savini is on board and Manfredini is doing the soundtrack? This is a no-brainer.”
In the third person slasher horror game, you’ll play as a teenage camp counselor alongside other players trying to survive until dawn, or you can even play as the killer. Yeah, I think I’m going with the killer’s side first, but that’s just my preference!
No release date has been announced just yet, but we know that when it gets here, the game will be available on Steam, PlayStation 4, and the Xbox One. Dig on some concept art and a trailer below.
