Two New Fright Night Commentaries!

frightnight - Two New Fright Night Commentaries! The sickos over at Icons of Fright have fulfilled their promise of delivering more “pirate” commentaries today with not one but two exclusive commentaries for Tom Holland’s classic Fright Night!

Both commentaries are moderated by 2001 Maniacs director and Shock N Roll columner Tim Sullivan; the first is with director Tom Holland and stars Chris Sarandon and Jonathan Stark. The second track is Holland again with stars William Ragsdale, Stephen Geoffreys, and FX artist Randall William Cook. Mr. Beaks from AICN co-moderates on this one, too, so it’s a full house!

  1. This is an awesome idea.

For some strange reason, FRIGHT NIGHT has never gotten the DVD it should have, and who knows when Columbia/Sony will get around to it, if at all.

I think these “pirate” commentaries are great. They can free up the participants to really speak their mind without the studios legal department having to make mincemeat of the whole thing.

  2. I’ll just go ahead and throw this out there: FRIGHT NIGHT is one of the best films that 80’s horror ever produced. Every other great horror movie from that decade has gotten decent treatment on DVD, sometimes repeatedly so. The DVD we currently have for FRIGHT NIGHT? It was released in 1999. I certainly appreciate these guys putting these commentaries together, they deserve our thanks, but they shouldn’t have had to.

  3. What a strange coincidence! – I almost bought “Fright Night” from the cheapo section in my local Target store yesterday, but instead opted to purchase “Halloween H20” off Amazon instead… I might just have to go back and grab that copy of Fright Night as well!
