There are many unsung heroes of the movie business, and sound designers most definitely belong in that category, oftentimes using ordinary items to create extraordinary sounds. A film like Godzilla (review) is of course full of such sounds, and now you can see how they were made!

In a 45-minute documentary that’s just come to our attention, SoundWorks Collection shines the spotlight solely on Godzilla‘s sound design team, which included Supervising Sound Editor and Sound Designer Erik Aadahl as well as Supervising Sound Editor Ethan Van der Ryn.

From explosions to the roars of the various monsters in the film, including the big guy himself, the E2 sound team did it all, and you can learn how they did it by watching the extensive documentary below. You won’t find this on the film’s home video release!
