Star Angus Sampson Teases Insidious Chapter 3 Surprise
The next installment in the Insidious franchise, due out next summer, is set to be a prequel to the first two films, centering on the ghost-hunting characters Specs and Tucker. And according to star Angus Sampson, one of them has a pretty big surprise in store. Read on!
In an interview with Nuke the Fridge, Sampson confirmed that Insidious Chapter 3 will be somewhat of an origin story, going on to tease that his character is perhaps hiding something unexpected up his sleeve.
“There’s a little surprise with Tucker in this next one,” Sampson said. “I will say that [it’s] a little surprise that Leigh has written for him. Nothing out of this world, but it was great fun.”
Insidious Chapter 3 will now be arriving June 5, 2015. It stars Dermot Mulroney, Stefanie Scott, Lin Shaye, Angus Sampson, and writer/director Leigh Whannell.
Synopsis:
The newest chapter in the terrifying horror series is written and directed by franchise co-creator Leigh Whannell. This chilling prequel, set before the haunting of the Lambert family, reveals how gifted psychic Elise Rainier (Shaye) reluctantly agrees to use her ability to contact the dead in order to help a teenage girl (Scott) who has been targeted by a dangerous supernatural entity.
