Whedon’s Dollhouse to Air Out of Order
In a very strange twist of events, Joss Whedon has decided that his newest show for Fox, “Dollhouse”, will air out of sequence. Fans of the man’s work may recall this was one of the many contributing factors to the quick death of “Firefly”, only this time it’s not because of studio interference.
”I showed some scenes to David Lynch and he’s all, ‘Whuh?’ Bad sign,” Whedon posted on his blog recently. “There were some slight issues with tone. I was in a dark, noir kind of place and didn’t bring the visceral pop the network had expected from the script.”
So the episode that was shot as the pilot will now air as the second, and Whedon is going out to shoot a new pilot that makes a little more sense. I guess it’s probably a good sign that he’s making this happen and not Fox, but one cannot ignore the inherit irony.
“Dollhouse” is scheduled to air Monday nights starting mid-season, so hopefully none of this will affect the show’s debut.
