Oversexed Rugsuckers from Mars Invade DVD
When I saw that Lionsgate was releasing a movie on DVD called Oversexed Rugsuckers from Mars, my immediate reaction was something along the lines of “How have I not heard of this film before now?” Actually, my first thought was “How is this not a Troma movie?” But after that I wondered how I had never heard of this 1989 movie.
“Tiny Martians use Earth as a laboratory to try out new life forms. They return after ten million years only to find that the human experiment is a complete failure. They decide to mate a human with a vacuum cleaner to create a species that will be better at cleaning up after itself. But a programming error by a drunken Martian sends the oversexed cleaner on a wild rampage of rape, murder and overall bad manners.”
From what reviews I’ve read online about this tiny-budgeted flick (the aliens are brought to life via claymation), Oversexed Rugsuckers from Mars is either a little known, campy, gross out b-movie poised for cult classic status or utterly unwatchable, unfunny crap that’s title is the only thing about it that’s entertaining. The one thing everyone does seem to agree upon is that film is utterly bizarre. How could it not be? It’s a movie about alien mutant vacuum cleaners that rape women!
Those that dare find out for themselves just how much this movie sucks (RIMSHOT!) can do so when Lionsgate immortalizes Oversexed Rugsuckers from Mars in digital format come October 7th. Do you dare?
