Australian Zombie Wrestling Flick From Parts Unknown: Fight Like a Girl Finally Ready to Main Event

We first reported on the Australian zombie wrestling action horror flick From Parts Unknown: Fight Like a Girl way back in 2008. Lots of movies have long, arduous treks from inception to the screen, but this is ridiculous!

From Parts Unknown: Fight Like a Girl is finally, at long last, ready to make its world premiere at The Thornbury Theatre in Australia early next year. I presume the rest of us will get our chances to see this long gestating film afterwards.

The Strongman Pictures production stars UK-based singer Jenna Dwyer as Charlie along with Elke Osadnik, Emma-Louise Wilson (ABC’s “Utopia”), and champion kickboxer Sarah Howett, a.k.a. Viper from Australian TV’s “Gladiators.”

To celebrate the press release announcing the film finally coming into fruition, award-winning artist Tom Hodge was commissioned to design some new artwork for this tale of a badass female pro wrestler and her smackdown with the undead.

I’ll let the press release from director Daniel Armstrong provide the rest of the details:

From Parts Unknown: Fight Like a Girl is your quintessential Australia-zombie-wrestling-video game movie. It tells the story of Charlie. After watching her Daddy die in the ring, she sets out to become a wrestler in his memory. The only things stopping her are a disapproving boyfriend, a demanding day job, and a soul-crushing boss – whose corporate shenanigans threaten to unleash hordes of zombies upon the earth! Charlie has no choice but to open up a can of whoop-ass and take these murderous jabronis for a stroll down smackdown boulevard!

‘What can you say? From Parts Unknown has been in production for nearly a decade now. We’ve overcome investors disappearing, a crazed department head running up excessive costs, and the loss of all our sound files in addition to, of course, the grueling 42-day shoot. It’s been a long journey, and we’re very excited about the fact that not only are people finally about to see the film, but we have amazing poster art that so perfectly reflects the tone of the film.’ – Director, Daniel Armstrong
