Jennifer Lynch to Unleash Nagin
Snake women. I think if you asked horror fans across the globe what still scares them after all this time, the answer wouldn’t be ghosts, or vampires, or demonic possession; not, it’d be snake women. Split Image Pictures knows this, somehow, and have tapped Jennifer Lynch (Boxing Helena, Surveillance) to bring out fears to film.
Variety reports that the India-based production company brought Lynch on board to direct the film Nagin, with Bollywood star Mallika Sherawat and Irfan Khan already set to star. The actual story is based on a Far Eastern myth of a snake woman who can take on human form. Getting chill just typing it. From what I could find it’s also a remake of a 1976 Bollywood film of the same name, but we won’t hold that against them.
Production is set to star up next month in India and is only the first of much such collaborations between Split Image and American directors. Pretty cool that they’re kicking it off with a horror film, no?
