We told you earlier that Fox has locked in a July 24, 2015, release date for the remake of the classic flick Poltergeist, but before it gets to us, the film will have to face a force greater than either Reverend Kane or Tangina Barrons… the MPAA! That being said, the film has scored a rating; read on for the details.

Poltergeist has been rated PG-13 for “intense frightening sequences, brief suggestive material, and some language.” Now, before you go and blow a gasket, keep in mind that the original film was rated PG. There. Feel better?

Rosemarie DeWitt, Sam Rockwell, Jared Harris, Kyle Catlett, Saxon Sharbino, Nicholas Braun, and Jane Adams star in a revisionist take on the classic horror film. David Lindsay-Abaire, Juliet Snowden, and Stiles White worked on the screenplay. Gil Kenan directs the 3D redux.

Synopsis
A family struggling to make ends meet relocates to an outdated suburban home and is confronted by an angry spirit who kidnaps their youngest daughter and challenges them to band together to rescue her from the clutches of evil.
