Can’t get enough of everyone’s favorite psychotic shrink? Saw III promises to deliver the gory goods this weekend (it’s the best of the trilogy in this writer’s opinion) and Dread Central was on hand during Lionsgate’s press junket.
Among Leigh Whannel’s usual tirade of Policy Academy references, the filmmakers dropped some interesting tidbits regarding Saw III and the future of the series:
Darren Bousman, Leigh Whannel, James Wan are officially finished with the series. They wanted to wrap it all up in a self-contained trilogy while allowing other filmmakers to continue the franchise.
Contrary to reports, Tobin Bell has NOT signed on for any sequels, but stated that he would be more than willing to play Jigsaw again.
The original cut of Saw III ran over three hours (!) and Bousman is hell-bent on releasing a director’s cut on DVD. Among the chopped bits is a brutal fight scene between actresses Shawnee Smith and Bahar Soomekh.
But that’s not all we learned! Check back soon for a full report on the Saw III press day!
