Duo Take a Cell Call
Well, I guess we won’t be seeing a “written and directed by” credit for Cell, the Stephen King adaptation that Eli Roth is tapped to helm as soon as he finished up with Hostel: Part II.
AICN got the exclusive word that the duo behind The People Vs. Larry Flynt and Ed Wood, namely Scott Alexander and Larry Karaszewski (pictured), have been brought on board by Dimension to make the Cell script a reality. The team apparently did such a good job with and King adapt, 1408, that the Brothers Weinstein let them have a go at Cell as well.
It sure can’t be a bad thing to get some new blood on King’s works as they translate to screen. For too long the same people have been making his work a big-screen reality and with very few exceptions it’s all a bit stinky. Now we just have to hope the Roth digs what they do and everything runs smooth on the way to seeing it made!
