Gordon Starts on Stuck
Though we’ve known about it for a while now, the folks at Production Weekly have put out word this morning that production on Stuart Gordon’s next film, the bizarre horror/drama Stuck, is set to commence on October 30th in and around New Brunswick, Canada.
Based on a true story, Stuck tells of a compassionate caregiver whose life is turned upside down when she accidentally hits a homeless man. The man is literally stuck to her windshield and, instead of taking him to the emergency room as she promises, she parks her car in the garage and waits for him to die, too concerned about how the incident will affect her future if she admits to it.
See? I told you it was bizarre but if anyone can pull it off it’s Gordon. The true story on which it’s based was a bit less sympathetic, as the woman who hit the homeless man was reportedly a drug addict and went home to have sex with her boyfriend while the guy slowly died in her garage, so it’s good that Stuart has given it a bit more of a dichotomy to play with.
Gordon wrote the film with “Tales From the Darkside” penner John Strysik. The film will be the first to be produced under the newly re-formed Amicus Film Productions, and you can bet your ass we’re going to be following it closely!
