Diablo 7 Will Run at 1080P on Xbox One
Xbox One is losing the war. Aside from PS4’s dominant lead in sales, games are routinely running at a lower resolution on Microsoft’s console. While PlayStation gamers have received a gold standard 1080P for their games, Xbox fans have had to deal with a noticeable amount of titles with resolutions hovering just above the 900P mark.
Diablo III: Reaper of Souls-Ultimate Evil Edition was charged to be yet another to receive a lesser fate on the Xbox One. Originally slated to run at 900P, it will now receive the full 1080P.
This graphical boost will come courtesy of a day one patch that will cause, as Tiffany Wat, associate producer at Blizzard, told Gamespot, “native 1080P resolution.”
Blizzard was able to make the upgrade due to the June Xbox One SDK that boosts the console’s GPU power. The Xbox One had reserved 10 percent of its graphical capabilities for their mandatory Kinect peripheral. Now that Kinect is no longer shipped with the unit, the Xbox SDK gave developers more capacity to use in their games in the hopes of catching up with the more powerful PS4.
Diablo III: Reaper of Souls-Ultimate Evil Edition arrives on August 19th for PS4 and Xbox One. The game includes Diablo III and the “Reaper of Souls” expansion.
