Crushed and Ruined in Erie

BugCrush and Ruins in Erie!Ever since I saw BugCrush (review), I knew that the film’s director Carter Smith was going to go on to do something special for horror fans. It was a beautiful, measured film that was hard to dismiss. The general public will get an opportunity to see Smith’s first big feature film, The Ruins, when it hits theaters on April 3rd. But if you are going to be in or around Erie, PA in the month of April, you may get a chance to see both films and meet the director himself.

A special advance screening of The Ruins will be held at the Cinemark Tinseltown theater in Erie, PA on April 3rd at 8:00pm. Tickets will be very limited so the show is expected to sell out fast.

Then on April 28th, in the Louis C. Cole Memorial Auditorium at the Edinboro University of Pennsylvania, director Carter Smith will present a special screening of both BugCrush and clips from The Ruins. Smith will also take part in a Q&A and meet and greet with the attendees.

Both events are being sponsored by The Edinboro Film Series in cooperation with The Pennsylvania Partners in the Arts program, Eerie Horror Film Festival, Edinboro University Student Government Association, Cinemark, and Lyons Den Productions. Attendees of The Ruins advance screening will receive a gift bag, courtesy of the Edinboro Film Series and its sponsors, which will include a ticket voucher to meet the director at the April 28th event at Edinboro University.

Tickets and more information can be found here. For phone orders please call 814-732-1048.
