Bethesda Executive Producer Todd Howard Gives Positive Update on ‘Marvel’s Blade’ Videogame

We’re all still waiting to find out if we’ll ever get the next Blade movie–a project I can’t believe is having this amount of difficulty–but it’s not all bad news in the world of Marvel’s Blade.
In an interview with EW, Bethesda executive producer Todd Howard gave a promising update on the Marvel’s Blade video game being developed by Arkane Studios and Bethesda in conjunction with Marvel Games. “I’m not at liberty to say when [we’ll see more], but I saw some stuff just yesterday [on May 21] and the folks at Arkane [Studios, the developers] are doing a really, really great job.“
In Marvel’s Blade, “Eric Brooks is the legendary Daywalker, half-man, half-vampire torn between the warm society of the living and the rushing power of the undead.”
Set in Paris, Marvel’s Blade is a narrative-driven, third-person action-adventure.
Arkane is perhaps best known for their Dishonored series, whereas Bethesda has found great success in game franchises such as The Elder Scrolls and Fallout.
For those who don’t recall, Marvel’s Blade was announced with a cinematic trailer during The Game Awards 2023. Though we haven’t head much since, so it’s great to finally have a bit of an update.
The vampire-slaying character of Blade was first introduced in Marvel’s The Tomb of Dracula #10. He later made his feature film introduction with the Wesley Snipes vehicle Blade in 1998 (still probably my personal favorite film based on a Marvel character. Nothing beats that opening blood club scene).
Count me as someone who can’t wait to step into the role of Blade and slice my way through some vampires. By the sounds of it, we hopefully won’t have to wait too much longer.
