Official 'Resident Evil' Logo Revealed on Newly Launched Website

Zach Cregger‘s new take on Resident Evil is all the hype, and now Sony Pictures has launched an official website (is this 2002?!?) for the video game adaptation, revealing the film’s official logo.

As revealed by the CinemaCon footage, the story follows Bryan, played by Austin Abrams (Weapons), a package delivery driver tasked with transporting a mysterious briefcase to Raccoon City Hospital during a deadly virus outbreak.

Early word on Resident Evil is overwhelmingly positive, with multiple sources indicating strong reactions from a recent test screening. According to industry chatter and a report from World of Reel, the film is being described as a lean, tightly constructed horror-thriller that departs from typical video game adaptations.

The reported 90-minute runtime is said to be “all gas, no brakes,” with the film built almost entirely around sustained tension. One attendee likened the experience to a horror take on Mad Max: Fury Road, emphasizing its relentless pacing. These reactions align with previous comments from producer Roy Lee, who described the film as a “roller coaster ride of nonstop action,” suggesting that director Zach Cregger’s vision delivers a fast, intense, and confident new direction for the franchise.

Here’s the official synopsis:

In an all-new story, Resident Evil follows Bryan (Austin Abrams), a medical courier who unwittingly finds himself in an action-packed, non-stop race for survival, as one fateful, horrifying night collapses into chaos around him.

Look for Resident Evil in theaters on September 18, 2026.
