Focus Features Acquires Curry Barkers ‘Anything But Ghosts’, Starring Aaron Paul
Curry Barker has quickly emerged as one of the most in-demand young filmmakers in Hollywood.
Following the buzz surrounding his forthcoming feature, Obsession, which is tracking toward a strong box office debut amid glowing early reviews, Barker has captured the attention of both critics and horror fans eager to see what he does next.
That momentum has already translated into major opportunities: he was recently tapped by A24 to direct the next installment in Texas Chainsaw Massacre.
Now, he’s set to continue his rapid ascent with Anything But Ghosts, which stars Aaron Paul and will be distributed by Focus Features, reports Deadline.
The film has already wrapped production in Vancouver, Canada, with Breaking Bad‘s Aaron Paul starring alongside Cooper Tomlinson (Obsession, Milk & Serial) and Barker.
Blumhouse-Atomic Monster, Spooky Pictures and Divide/Conquer are producing the pic. The plot is under wraps. Barker directed Anything But Ghosts and co-wrote with Tomlinson.
Anything But Ghosts is produced by Jason Blum (Blumhouse), Roy Lee & Steven Schneider (Spooky Pictures), Adam Hendricks & Greg Gilreath (Divide/Conquer), in association with Image Nation and That’s a Bad Idea. Executive producers are Barker, Tomlinson, and Image Nation’s Ben Ross.
