‘Mother Mary’ – You Haven’t Seen Anything Like this Before in BTS First Look [Watch]
David Lowery‘s Mother Mary has kept me guessing for months now, but a recent trailer finally made clear that the upcoming psychosexual pop thriller is, in fact, a horror film. And today, A24 has released a BTS first look at the film that takes viewers backstage with stars Anne Hathaway and Michaela Coel.
“My first impression reading the script was just, wow,” says Hathaway in the below video. “The story of Mother Mary is just beyond words.”
Adds Coel, “You haven’t seen anything like this before.”
In Mother Mary, “Long-buried wounds rise to the surface when iconic pop star Mother Mary (Anne Hathaway) reunites with her estranged best friend and former costume designer Sam Anselm (Michaela Coel) on the eve of her comeback performance.”
Also starring are Hunter Schafer, Atheena Frizzell, Kaia Gerber, Jessica Brown Findlay, Alba Baptista, Isaura Barbé-Brown, plus Sian Clifford and FKA Twigs.
