‘Invincible’ Episode 4 Reveals Bruce Campbell as Satan in His Full Form [Clip]

You don’t need to have watched any of Invincible to jump into Season 4’s fourth episode, Hurm, which sends Invincible straight to the depths of hell to help Satan retrieve his crown and stop the sinister Volcanikka, pictured below, from taking over and bringing hell to the surface for a true apocalypse.

This episode is, all things considered, pretty grounded. It makes some really fun references to Bill & Ted’s Bogus Journey and even features a ripping soundtrack cue from Slayer’s “Raining Blood,” which hits exactly how you want it to.

As we teased in a previous article, Bruce Campbell (Evil Dead) plays Satan himself, while Clancy Brown plays Damien, his aide. The two of them summon Invincible in a kind of reverse exorcism, dragging him down to hell to help save the planet from Volcanikka.

And it turns out they’re not exactly what the legends make them out to be. Campbell’s Satan is initially teased as this tiny little demon, but once he retrieves his crown, he snaps back into his full form. The two of them then fight side by side to take down the threat.

It’s a great, almost fly-on-the-wall episode. It feels very self-contained and easy to enjoy, even if you’ve never watched Invincible before. If you’ve been on the fence, this is a solid entry point. If you’re already in, it’s another reminder of how weird and fun this show can get.
