‘The Blair Witch Project’ Remake Heads to the Woods With Dylan Clark Directing [Confirmed]

BREAKING: Lionsgate is heading back to Burkittsville with a brand new take on The Blair Witch Project and has set up-and-comer Dylan Clark (Transfigure, Portrait of God) to direct, Daniel Richtman first reported via his Patreon sub. Dread Central has since confirmed the news is, in fact, true.
As previously reported, Lionsgate and Blumhouse are partnering on the next Blair Witch, much like the forthcoming new Saw entry. Jason Blum will team with producer Roy Lee (The Ring, Godzilla, It) on the new Blair Witch.
Released in 1999, the first Blair Witch film – directed by Daniel Myrick and Eduardo Sánchez – became a cultural phenomenon, earning $248 million worldwide. It was followed by the sequel, Book of Shadows: Blair Witch 2, which grossed about $47 million worldwide, and later by a reboot/sidequel from Adam Wingard that grossed roughly $45 million worldwide, rounding out the trilogy.
In the OG: Three film students vanish after traveling into a Maryland forest to film a documentary on the local Blair Witch legend, leaving only their footage behind.
As for Dylan Clark, he’s been making a name for himself after a slew of phenomenal short films, with Portrait of God currently being adapted into a feature film by Sam Raimi’s Ghost House Pictures and Jordan Peele’s Monkey Paw for Universal Pictures.
