Jason Reitman Returns to the Supernatural With ’71 Minutes’

Jason Reitman, who ended up following in his father’s footsteps and directing Ghostbusters: Afterlife, is making a return to the supernatural with 71 Minutes, reports THR.
Sony Pictures has landed 71 Minutes, an original spec script from Ian Shorr, coming out on top in a competitive situation, the site reports.
Reitman will produce the feature via his Ghost Corp banner alongside Erica Mills. As of this writing, he is not currently attached to direct.
While details remain under wraps, the project is described as a real-time thriller about a man who must evade his pursuers in a ticking-clock scenario, with only 71 minutes until sunrise.
That sure does sound like a vampire movie to me, which wouldn’t be shocking considering how reactive Hollywood is and the recent success of Sinners.
Shorr wrote 71 Minutes on spec, and the script immediately generated massive interest, with over 20 production companies , plus some studios, chasing the project, before Sony acquired it.
