Horror TV Actress Carrie Anne Fleming Passes Away at 51; Starred in 'Supernatural' and 'iZombie'

Variety reports that Carrie Anne Fleming, the Canadian actress known for roles in iZombie and Supernatural, died Feb. 26 in Sidney, British Columbia. She was 51.

Jim Beaver, her co-star on Supernatural, confirmed to Variety that Fleming died from complications related to breast cancer.

“Carrie Anne Fleming was cast as my wife on Supernatural in my fifth season on the show. I fell for her hard, and I did it mere seconds after meeting her,” co-star Jim Beaver wrote on Facebook. “She was a powerhouse of vitality and goodwill and amazingly good nature, with a rapturous laugh and an utterly adorable personality that didn’t seem to have an off switch.”

Fleming broke into film and television with a recurring role on Viper and appeared in Happy Gilmore. After a series of smaller roles, director Dario Argento cast her in Masters of Horror in 2005, where she starred in the episode Jenifer as a disfigured woman with cannibalistic tendencies. She went on to appear in genre projects, including The Tooth Fairy and Bloodsuckers, adds the website.

Fleming also had a recurring role on Supernatural as Karen Singer, the wife of Bobby Singer (played by Beaver). She later appeared in the 2015 TV film The Unauthorized Full House Story, portraying the mother of Full House star Candace Cameron Bure.

More recently, she held a five-season recurring role as Candy Baker on iZombie. Outside of screen work, Fleming appeared in numerous stage productions in British Columbia, including Noises Off, Romeo and Juliet, Steel Magnolias, and Fame.

She is survived by her daughter, Madalyn Rose (Max). A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
