2026 Oscar Winners: Including Amy Madigan for ‘Weapons’, and Michael B Jordan and Ryan Coogler for ‘Sinners’!
The Oscars are over, and horror made a killing, finally.
The 98th Academy Awards, hosted by Conan O’Brien for the second year in a row, aired live from the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, where a handful of horror films left with gold.
Among the early winners, Amy Madigan took home best supporting actress for her role in Weapons, erasing years of pain from Toni Collette‘s embarrassing Oscar snub for her performance in Hereditary.
KPop Demon Hunters won the Oscar for best animated feature, while Frankenstein picked up two early awards, for costume design and makeup & hairstyling.
Sinners led the 2026 Oscar nominations with a record-setting 16 nods, including best picture, best director, and best original screenplay, and started to pick up steam late in the game when Ryan Coogler won for best original screenplay and then Michael B. Jordan for best actor. Not a bad night for horror. Not bad at all.
